    (Artist's note and book) Immersion.Emergence, 2006

Immersion.Emergence is a series of photographs which I found myself performing, represents to me an end as well as a beginning, the terms of which are undefined. It is my relationship to the dirty, polluted, but holy river which is also the life line of the city of 15 million people. At another level, the mythical river is intimately linked to the idea of life, death and rebirth. Upon dying, the ‘mortal’ body is immersed into the holy river, back to the five elements of nature. What will the rebirth be?
